Fatherhood

We have a baby.

If you saw my last post (39 Weeks) you probably figured it wouldn't be too long before my wife and I would get to meet our baby. Here we are now, two weeks into parenthood. Yesterday being my first Father's Day as a father, I thought it would be as good a time as any to share a little bit of our adventure into parenthood with you. But first, some baby facts since that's what everyone really wants:

Weight: 8 lbs 0.4 oz (3.64 kg)

Length: 20 inches (50.8 cm)

Now for a little video...

We're still figuring a lot of things out together as a family, but at least we're getting the hang of basic care (diaper changes, feeding, car seats, etc.). I can't wait until our little guy starts figuring out the whole day/night cycle. We don't need a whole night's sleep, but some longer stretches would be nice, especially for my wife. Other than diaper changes and occasional snuggles, our boy isn't too interested in what I've got to offer at the moment.

I know his little smiles are the result of gas, but man are they cute. I can't wait until we get to see the real smiles and learn his personality. My wife and most people seem to think he looks mostly like me. My lips, my ears, my eyes, and such. We'll see, he's got a lot of growing still to do. I know he'll grow up faster than either my wife or I would like, so for now we'll enjoy our little Sebastian.

Here are a few pictures from Sebastian's first week of life outside the womb.

I can't promise how often I'll give updates on our little man. This summer is going to fly by, with lots of changes for our little family.
